Key Concepts

This section outlines the fundamental concepts necessary for understanding the Secure Trials Console.

Trial: A temporary, limited-time access to a product or service, allowing potential customers to evaluate its features and benefits before making a purchase decision.

Trial request: A request for a trial made by a customer using an invite link provided by a person or organization selling Cisco products.

Partners: Organizations that sell Cisco products to end users. Each partner has a dedicated console in the application. Only one console can be assigned to a partner. Multiple salespeople within a partner organization can access the console. Console users can have various roles and permissions assigned to their accounts.

Distributors: Organizations that work with Cisco to sell products to partners. They provide expertise, assist with onboarding and education, and manage partner activity within the console. Distributors also have access to partner console and can create trials independently.

Internal Sellers: Salespeople within Cisco who sell Cisco products across all regions where Cisco operates. The number of internal sellers is relatively small compared to other roles selling and distributing Cisco products. Due to the specific nature of their relationship with Cisco, internal sellers use a distinct type (or view) of the Secure Trials Console.
